There’s an organization known as the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and they’ve designated October as National Orthodontic Health Month. Your Spring orthodontist agrees that it’s the perfect time to raise awareness about the importance of having a straight smile and why you need an orthodontist’s guidance.

Thinking About Oral Health

October can be a busy time for all of us, but why not take a moment or two to think about your personal oral health goals or those of your family members; specifically if there’s an orthodontic issue. If you have questions please call our Spring orthodontist office and schedule some time for a simple consultation. Talking about smiles and helping you learn about orthodontics is what we do best!

Here’s What October Means to Us

Our entire talented team is going to make sure we stress the importance of what it means to have a smile that’s straight and healthy. This means dedicating the right amount of time and attention to oral hygiene. Take a look at your toothbrush. Is it time for a new one or an upgrade to a different style? Is your family up-to-date with their teeth cleanings or orthodontic adjustments?

Remember how important it is to keep your teeth clean if you’re wearing braces. Food particles and plaque love to build up and become trapped in wires and brackets. Keeping braces clean with regular brushing and flossing will ensure your smile will be healthy and beautiful when it’s time for your braces to be removed. Also, if in the retainer phase of orthodontic treatment, make sure you wear it! It’s going to help keep your smile straight after we remove your braces. You and your smile are worth it!

No matter what month it is, we want you to know how much your Spring orthodontist enjoys getting to know you and your family. We truly care about every smile we have the pleasure of helping to become healthy and straight.

Call our Spring Dental Office to make an appointment with a dentist who may be able to help you find out more about this topic, and improve your oral health.
